Gyeongnam Information College Holds RISE Project Briefing with Inno-Biz Association
Gyeongnam Information College has launched efforts to establish an industry-academia cooperation ecosystem by holding a policy briefing session for the RISE (Regional Innovation-led University Support System) project in collaboration with local industries.
On June 16, Gyeongnam Information College announced that it had hosted a RISE project briefing session on June 11 in the main conference room of the Minseok Memorial Hall, inviting member companies of the Busan Ulsan branch of the Inno-Biz Association (Korea Association of Innovative Businesses for SMEs).
The purpose of the briefing session was to share Gyeongnam Information College's RISE project implementation strategies with local companies and to build a collaborative ecosystem based on mutual growth among local governments, industries, and universities.
The RISE project in the Busan region will inject a total of 134.1 billion won over five years into 122 projects at 20 local universities. Among these, Gyeongnam Information College will carry out the largest project among local junior colleges, with a budget of 33.3 billion won.
Over the next five years, Gyeongnam Information College plans to focus on nurturing talent who will remain in the region by: cultivating skilled technical professionals tailored to local industry needs; supporting companies for the development of strategic industries; and fostering industry-contracted talent among international students.

Lim Junwoo, head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Group at Gyeongnam Information College, said, "We will strive to expand exchanges between universities and industries, which are key pillars of regional development and innovation, and to ensure the successful implementation of the RISE project."
