Musk Regrets Clash With Trump: "I Went Too Far"
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said he regrets posting messages last week targeting U.S. President Donald Trump.
On June 10 (local time), Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "I regret some of the posts I made about President Trump last week," adding, "I went too far."
The previous day, Musk had expressed support for President Trump's hardline response to immigrant protests by capturing and sharing a post from Trump's Truth Social account.
He also deleted posts from X that had called for President Trump's impeachment and posts that, without evidence, alleged President Trump was involved in a sex scandal.
Musk, who previously led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Trump administration, clashed with President Trump over issues such as the tax cut bill and reciprocal tariff policies being pursued by Trump.
After Musk criticized the Republican-led tax cut bill as "disgusting," President Trump expressed his displeasure, saying, "I had a great relationship with Musk, but I don't know if that will continue."
