'2025 Incheon Fair Trade Festival' to Be Held at Songdo on the 14th
Incheon City will host the '2025 Incheon Fair Trade Festival' on June 14 at the Songdo Central Park Lawn Square.
The event is designed to help citizens more easily understand and directly experience the meaning of Fair Trade. Its goal is to widely promote ethical consumption and sustainable lifestyles.
The festival will begin with an opening ceremony that includes commendations for contributors to fair trade, followed by a fair trade fashion show, a quiz competition, and a fair trade product speed-eating contest. There will also be free tastings of fair trade coffee and products, hands-on experiences such as hand-drip coffee making and roasting with a mesh roaster, and booths for the exhibition and sale of fair trade products. In addition, a variety of experiential programs and content for citizen and youth participation will be offered to help deepen understanding of fair trade.
Incheon City declared itself a Fair Trade City in 2010 and, in 2017, became the first city in South Korea to receive official Fair Trade City certification. Since then, the city has pursued various initiatives to promote fair trade at the local level and raise public awareness.
The city expects that this festival will provide an opportunity to reflect on the present and future of fair trade activities and to share the vision of 'Sustainable Fair Trade City Incheon' created together with its citizens.
