Wanju County to Hold 'Residents' Day Event' at County Office on June 14
Celebrating the Achievement of 100,000 Residents

Wanju County in North Jeolla Province will hold the '60th Wanju County Residents' Day' event on June 14 at the county office and surrounding areas.
According to the county on June 10, this event is being organized to celebrate Wanju County reaching a population of 100,000, and will serve as an occasion for unity with guests from various sectors.
The event will begin with a children's marching band leading the guests, followed by opening performances from a 60-member county lifestyle culture and arts percussion team, a 60-member line dance team, and joint performances by four Wanju County choirs and promotional ambassador Yoon Suyeon, further highlighting the significance of the 60th anniversary and enhancing the festive atmosphere.
During the commemorative ceremony, the county will present the Wanju County Resident Award to citizens who have brought honor to the county in various fields, with each recipient receiving a plaque and a medal.
In particular, this year's Residents' Day will feature a vision proclamation ceremony and performance to commemorate the county reaching a population of 100,000. The Wanju County Love Movement Headquarters will also present special commemorative gifts to the 100,000th resident, large families, and centenarians.
After the first part commemorative ceremony and the second part vision proclamation ceremony, traditional folk games will be held for all residents to enjoy together, followed by a residents' singing contest hosted by comedian Cho Raehoon.
The residents' singing contest will feature 13 teams representing each township, with congratulatory performances by local singers and Wanju County promotional ambassador Bae Ahyeon, further adding to the excitement of the festival.
County Governor Yoo Heetae said, "Through this event, I hope all residents will come together as one and that this will be a meaningful opportunity to take a bold step toward the era of 100,000 Wanju residents."
