KT Surpasses 10 Million Ultra-High-Speed Internet Subscribers
Customer Appreciation Event Runs Until August
KT announced on June 10 that it has become the first company in South Korea to reach a cumulative total of 10 million ultra-high-speed internet subscribers. This milestone was achieved 30 years after the launch of the country's first commercial internet service, KORNET, in 1994.
To celebrate this achievement, KT will hold the "Internet is KT Festival" until August 31. For long-term customers, the company will provide a "Giga WiFi Home Router" free of charge with a three-year contract for the "Basic (500Mbps)" plan, and a WiFi 7 router for the "Essence (1Gbps)" plan or higher. Customers who have used Genie TV for more than three years will be offered an upgrade to the latest Android set-top box.
New subscribers will also receive benefits. New customers who sign up for a 1Gbps or higher plan can use a WiFi 7 router and the home security service "KT Homecam Ansim" free of charge. Those who subscribe to Genie TV at the same time will also receive a discount on a soundbar set-top box.
