View original imageAt the 177th regular meeting of the Gyeonggi Province City and County Council Chairmen Association, held on June 9 at the Jeongokhang Marina Clubhouse in Hwaseong, Kim Seungho was elected as the 16th chairman after receiving 16 out of a total of 30 votes, defeating Jo Seongdae, chairman of Namyangju City Council.
Kim Seungho, who has served as a Dongducheon city council member for three consecutive terms since 2014, is currently serving as chairman of Dongducheon City Council for both the first and second halves of the 9th council.

Upon his election, Kim Seungho stated, "I will do my utmost to further solidify unity and cooperation among the 31 city and county councils in the province. At the same time, I will take the lead in strengthening the status and authority of basic local councils by working to increase the number of basic council members in Gyeonggi Province, raise the rank of administrative staff in small and medium-sized city and county councils, secure independent budget and organizational authority for local councils, transfer permanent audit authority to the councils, and enact the 'Local Council Act.'"
