View original imageOn the 9th, Lee Seungchan, chairman of the Gyeryong Scholarship Foundation and chairman of Gyeryong Construction, awarded a total of approximately 13 million won in scholarships and encouragement funds to 48 elementary and middle school students from Daejeon and three coaches who achieved outstanding results at the 54th National Youth Sports Competition. The ceremony took place at the Sports Science Center of the Daejeon Sports Council.
This scholarship award ceremony was organized to encourage young athletes from Daejeon who won gold medals at the National Youth Sports Competition, which was held across Gyeongsangnam-do from May 24 to 27, and to support their continued growth.
Lee Seungchan stated, "I am proud of the students who achieved excellent results despite fierce competition," and added, "I would also like to express my deep gratitude to the coaches and parents who devoted themselves behind the scenes."
Kwon Youngbin, a student at Daejeon Byeondong Middle School who became a triple gold medalist in the boys' cycling event, said, "The support from the Gyeryong Scholarship Foundation and many others has been a great source of strength for me. I will continue to work hard for even better results in the future."
Meanwhile, since its establishment in 1992, the Gyeryong Scholarship Foundation has awarded scholarships totaling approximately 6.9 billion won to about 16,000 recipients to date.
