At the 'Chungnam-style Architecture Policy' meeting held that day in the provincial government situation room, Governor Kim said, "Now that carbon neutrality is the trend of the times, we will strive to promote eco-friendly architecture that considers not only design but also energy efficiency."
The meeting was attended by around 30 people, including Governor Kim, Han Minkyu, President of the Chungnam Architectural Association, and the presidents of the association's chapters from 15 cities and counties. Together, they set the direction for Chungnam-style architectural policy and shared the voices of the local architectural field.
This meeting was the first official event between the governor and the leadership of the Chungnam Architectural Association since the launch of the Department of Architecture and Urban Affairs last year, which was the first of its kind among metropolitan provinces nationwide. The event included the delivery of a 10 million won donation to support vulnerable groups in the province, listening to suggestions, and informal discussions.
Governor Kim said, "With the establishment of the Department of Architecture and Urban Affairs last year, we announced a 100-year architectural vision aiming to become a world-renowned architectural destination. Since architecture is what creates a dignified life for our residents, Chungnam considers architectural policy more important than any other field."
The Chungnam Architectural Association contributes to the local community every year through activities such as improving the residential environment for elderly people living alone, scholarship programs, supporting the operation of the Architectural Culture Festival, donating books, and delivering disaster relief funds.
