The 2 millionth visitor was a couple in their 30s from Seoul. They visited Suncheonman National Garden during the Memorial Day holiday to attend East Asia's largest "Candlelight Concert."
Suncheonman National Garden is gaining popularity among visitors by offering a wide variety of content and hands-on programs throughout all four seasons. In particular, with the start of June and the upcoming peak summer season, the garden is emerging as a popular "Jeongwon-cance" hotspot, especially with its nighttime openings.
The city aims to attract 3 million visitors and plans to extend operating hours by one hour to 9 p.m. starting in July. Under the theme of "Midsummer Oasis," the garden will introduce various programs such as ▲ Streamside Jeongwon-cance ▲ Hanok Night Tour ▲ Garden Dreamho Waterside Busking ▲ Earthing Therapy, and more.
In addition, during the summer, the garden will operate ecology and healing programs in collaboration with local businesses. These programs will be available by reservation and will offer visitors healing and rejuvenation experiences at Suncheonman National Garden through specialized ecology lectures, therapy sessions, and guided tours.
A city official said, "Suncheonman National Garden is establishing itself as a space where rest and healing coexist throughout all four seasons, going beyond being just a tourist destination." The official added, "We will continue to develop diverse content and high-quality programs to make it the most beautiful garden in the world, not just in Korea."
