"EU Korea together in challenging times"
Pukyong National University (President: Bae Sanghoon) will host a special lecture by Maria Castillo Fernandez, Ambassador of the European Union to Korea, at the Pukyong Convention Hall at 10:45 a.m. on June 10.
On this day, Ambassador Fernandez will deliver a lecture to Pukyong National University undergraduate and graduate students on the theme "EU Korea together in challenging times."
Ambassador Fernandez, a Spanish national, was in charge of Korean Peninsula affairs at the EU headquarters from 2000 to 2005 and served as Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Korea from 2005 to 2008.
In 2008, she was awarded the Civil Cross of Merit by the King of Spain for her contributions to strengthening relations between the EU and the Korean Peninsula. She later served as EU Ambassador to Malaysia and has been serving as Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Korea since September 2020.
The Office of International Affairs at Pukyong National University organized this event to provide students with an opportunity to communicate with the EU Ambassador to Korea, to support students' advancement to European countries, and to promote joint programs with universities in Europe.

As of 2025, a total of 80 Pukyong National University students have been dispatched or are scheduled to be dispatched as exchange students to EU member states, while 35 students from EU member states have studied or are scheduled to study at Pukyong National University as exchange students.
