Goheung County Assigns Addresses to Palyongsan "Cypress Healing Forest Trail"
Introduction of SOS One-Stop System
Enhancing Safety for Hikers
Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced on June 9 that it has assigned road names to the Palyongsan Cypress Healing Forest Trail and completed the installation of basic number plates.
This measure aims to systematically establish location information for forest trails that previously had no addresses, so that hikers can quickly request rescue in case they get lost or encounter emergencies.

In addition, 64 basic number plates were installed at approximately 100-meter intervals.
The installed number plates use a spring fixation method on trees to minimize environmental damage, and are made of phosphorescent materials to enhance visibility at night.
Furthermore, the 'SOS One-Stop System' has been implemented, allowing hikers to scan the QR code on the basic number plate with their smartphones. Their current location is then automatically recognized, enabling them to immediately request rescue from the police or fire department.
A county official stated, "With the assignment of addresses to the forest trail, we expect a significant improvement in both convenience and safety for hikers in finding their way. We will continue to expand the address information infrastructure by assigning road names to other unaddressed walkways and farm roads in the future."
