Korea Deloitte Launches Free Education Platform to Strengthen Board and Audit Expertise
Korea Deloitte Group announced on June 9 that it has launched the "Deloitte Boardroom Academy," a free online education platform aimed at strengthening the expertise of corporate boards and audit committees.
The Deloitte Boardroom Academy is a customized, free online education platform developed in response to growing social demands for stronger corporate governance and enhanced accounting transparency. It is designed for outside directors, audit committee members, and auditors, focusing on key issues that boards and audit committees must address, such as corporate governance, financial reporting, prevention of financial incidents, disclosures, ESG (environmental, social, and governance), and artificial intelligence (AI). The platform incorporates practical insights from both Deloitte and external experts, enabling immediate application in real-world tasks.
The main content of the platform includes "Online Education," "Deloitte Report," and "Deloitte Clip." The online education consists of video lectures tailored to the specific learning objectives of board and audit committee members, and is offered as the Board Program, Audit Committee Program, Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Program, and Special Agenda Program.
The Board Program provides insights to help boards set agendas and strengthen decision-making capabilities, focusing on core issues such as prevention of financial incidents, ESG, value-up, and AI. The Audit Committee Program covers essential topics that audit committee members must review, including the role of the audit committee, ensuring reliability in financial reporting, communication with external auditors, and supervision of disclosures and accounting information.
The Internal Control over Financial Reporting Program is designed to provide in-depth learning on practical points that audit committees need to understand in response to the recently strengthened consolidated ICFR audit requirements. It covers risk assessment, change management, design and operational evaluation, monitoring, IT controls, financial risk, and fraud prevention, all presented with real-life examples. The Special Agenda Program consists of content addressing regulatory changes, such as ESG disclosure standards (KSSB standards), global sustainability disclosure trends, and carbon neutrality strategies.
The Deloitte Report provides in-depth analysis of corporate governance and key agendas, as well as industry-specific reports to support the strategic decision-making of boards and audit committees. The Deloitte Clip features concise video content, including major news from the Group and the Center for Corporate Governance Advancement, as well as expert interviews, delivering information with a sense of immediacy.
The Deloitte Boardroom Academy is available free of charge upon registration, and all content can be accessed on both PC and mobile devices. Users can also obtain certificates of completion to manage their learning history and verify educational achievements. The platform is designed to allow flexible and repeated learning, ensuring both user convenience and practical applicability.
