"Perfect Indoor Picture Quality"... LG Electronics OLED TV Certified in Germany
Delivers Outstanding Picture Quality Even in Bright Environments
Certified for Black Reproduction, Picture Quality Speed, and More
Maintains No. 1 Position in OLED TV Market for 13 Consecutive Years
LG Electronics' 2025 OLED TV has received international certification for delivering high picture quality even in bright viewing environments.
On June 9, LG Electronics announced that it recently achieved the highest "Perfect" rating in the "Indoor Lighting Picture Quality Certification" from TUV Rheinland, a global testing and certification body based in Germany. This certification evaluates not only picture quality in dark rooms, where such assessments are typically conducted, but also how consistently high-quality images can be experienced in bright indoor environments where customers actually watch TV. The evaluation was carried out under lighting conditions of 500 lux, similar to the brightness of a living room during the day.
For this certification, TUV Rheinland assessed five picture quality areas that are particularly susceptible to degradation under lighting. The LG OLED TV maintained outstanding picture quality in all aspects?black reproduction, color expression, contrast, gradation accuracy, and sharpness and detail?even when the surrounding environment became brighter.
LG Electronics obtained this certification for all models of its 2025 OLED TV lineup. Previously, the 2025 LG OLED TV received both the "Perfect Black" and "Perfect Color" certifications from global certification body UL Solutions, recognizing its ability to deliver consistent black and color performance as originally intended, regardless of ambient conditions. Intertek also granted the "Color Volume 100%" certification to all 2025 LG OLED TVs this year, verifying their ability to reproduce the rich colors of original content without distortion.
The 2025 LG OLED Evo is the only OLED (organic light-emitting diode) TV on the market to receive TUV Rheinland's "Fast High Picture Quality Image Stability" certification, which recognizes its ability to stabilize picture quality quickly after the TV is turned on.
LG Electronics has maintained the number one position in the global OLED TV market for 13 consecutive years. According to market research firm Omdia, LG Electronics recorded a market share of approximately 52% in global OLED TV shipments in the first quarter of this year. Recently, cumulative sales of LG OLED TVs surpassed 10 million units in Europe, a key premium TV market. The product, which was launched in 2013, had previously reached about 5 million cumulative sales by 2021.
