President Lee Jaemyung Appoints Lee Hanju as Chair of National Policy Planning Committee to Serve as Transition Team
On June 5, President Lee Jaemyung formed the National Policy Planning Committee, which will serve as the transition team for the new administration, and appointed Lee Hanju, head of the Institute for Democracy, as its chairperson.
Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the presidential office, stated, "The National Policy Planning Committee is an organization that functions as a transition team, responsible for tasks such as government restructuring and organizing national policy agendas, except for personnel verification."
Since President Lee Jaemyung took office without a transition team following the Constitutional Court's dismissal of President Yoon Sukyeol after the presidential election, the National Policy Planning Committee is expected to play a key role in establishing the main framework for state affairs going forward.
