Pyeongtaek City Launches Revitalization Support Project for 10 Alley Commercial Districts Including Ichung Central Shopping District
Production of Promotional Content and Local Special Events Planned
On June 5, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has selected 10 locations, including the Ichung Central Shopping District, as target areas for the '2025 Alley Commercial District Revitalization Support Project' to revitalize stagnant alley commercial districts and boost the local economy. The city will now begin full-scale implementation of the project.

View original imageOf the 23 alley commercial district merchant associations in Pyeongtaek City, 13 applied for the public project. The city plans to implement customized projects tailored to the characteristics of each of the 10 selected districts.
The selected alley commercial districts are: Ichung Central Shopping District, Taepyeong Shopping District, Jogaeteo Merchants Association, Songtan Business Association, Oseong Shopping District Prosperity Association, Pyeongtaek Baemi District Merchants Association, Pyeongtaek Station Sesejang Merchants Association, Pyeongtaek Northern Small Business Association, Pyeongtaek Central Merchants Association, and Northern Central Merchants Association.
The selected districts will carry out a variety of revitalization projects reflecting the unique characteristics and needs of each area, including: production and dissemination of promotional content, local markets and region-specific events, projects to encourage commercial district usage, and cultural and artistic programs in alley commercial districts.
