Northeast Gyeonggi Elder Protection Agency Opens in Namyangju on June 5
The Northeast Gyeonggi Elder Protection Agency, which will play a role in protecting the human rights of the elderly and preventing abuse, opened in Namyangju on June 5, 2025.
With this opening, the number of elder protection agencies in the Gyeonggi region has increased to six, following the agencies in Southern Gyeonggi (Suwon), Eastern Gyeonggi (Seongnam), Western Gyeonggi (Bucheon), Northern Gyeonggi (Uijeongbu), and Northwestern Gyeonggi (Goyang).
The "Northeast Gyeonggi Elder Protection Agency," which opened in Namyangju, will be responsible for protecting the human rights of elderly residents in five areas: Namyangju, Hanam, Guri, Yangpyeong, and Gapyeong. Its main duties include: ▲ counseling and education related to abuse in the region ▲ operating a 24-hour hotline (1577-1389) for reporting and on-site investigations ▲ emergency protection measures ▲ preventive education and public awareness campaigns.
