121,723 Fallen Soldiers Yet to Return... Taegeukgi Badges Made from K9 Distributed
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs announced on June 5 that it will conduct the "121879 Taegeukgi Flags to Find Until the End" campaign to commemorate the 121,723 South Korean soldiers who have not yet returned to their families as of the 75th anniversary of the Korean War. This campaign is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense Agency for KIA Recovery and Identification, Hanwha, and Naver Happybean.
The ministry has produced Taegeukgi flag badges symbolizing the 121,723 fallen soldiers who have not yet returned for this campaign. The Taegeukgi badge is designed in the shape of a Taegeukgi draped over a casket for veterans, expressing the hope that the unrecovered soldiers will return to their families as soon as possible. It is made using scrap metal generated during the manufacturing process of the domestically produced K9 self-propelled howitzer.
