Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, congratulated President Lee Jaemyung on his election victory.
Governor Kim, in a post uploaded to his social networking service (SNS) around midnight on the 3rd, when Lee Jaemyung's victory was all but confirmed by broadcasters, wrote, "I sincerely congratulate President Lee Jaemyung on his election," and added, "The people have clearly demonstrated their determination to bring a complete end to the rebellion with the highest voter turnout in 28 years."
He continued, "Now is the time for economic recovery and national unity," and expressed his expectations by saying, "Although there are many difficult challenges both at home and abroad, I have no doubt that the Lee Jaemyung administration will unite the hearts of the people and restore the damaged economy and livelihoods."
