View original imageChosun University announced on June 2 that Professor Changkeun Cho of the Department of Architectural Engineering has been inaugurated as the 13th president of the Korean Spatial Structures Society.
Professor Cho assumed the presidency during the "2025 Spring Conference and General Assembly of the Korean Spatial Structures Society," which was held at Jeju National University from May 28 to May 30. His term will last for two years, ending in May 2027.
The Korean Spatial Structures Society is a professional architectural society that leads the field of domes and large-space structures for concert halls, stadiums, airports, and convention centers. The society contributes to the advancement of research and practice in the field of spatial structures both domestically and internationally.
Professor Cho is currently serving as a professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Chosun University. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Kyungpook National University and obtained his Ph.D. in architectural structures from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. He also currently serves as the president of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Architectural Institute of Korea.
Professor Cho stated, "I will expand the reach of the society by promoting technological advancement suitable for the era of convergence," and added, "I will lead the academic and technological development of large-space architectural technology, thereby contributing to the advancement of architectural technology in Korea."
