Gyeongsan City Launches Multicultural Family Pregnancy and Childbirth Service
Gyeongsan City in North Gyeongsang Province is operating the "Multicultural Family Pregnancy and Childbirth Service" to encourage and support pregnancy and childbirth among multicultural and foreign families.
This program is designed to help multicultural and foreign mothers overcome various challenges they face during pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing, such as language and cultural barriers. Specially trained postpartum helpers (Mom Coaches), who are marriage migrant women, provide services to applicant families to help them adapt to and settle in Korean society more smoothly.
Eligible applicants are multicultural and foreign families residing in Gyeongsan City who are either pregnant or have children under 24 months old. The service includes health checks for mothers and newborns, breastfeeding and weaning education, hospital accompaniment, and vaccination management. Services are provided one to three times per week, with each session lasting three hours.
Applications will be accepted starting June 4, and to provide a better understanding of the program, informational sessions will be held on June 14 and 21 before the services begin.
