Research on Three-Dimensional Biological Platforms Based on Microfluidic Technology
Sangmyung University announced on June 2, 2025, that Professor Kang Sungmin of the Department of Green Chemical Engineering has been selected for the 'Biochip Young Investigator Award' by the Korean BioChip Society.
The 'Biochip Young Investigator Award' is given to early-career researchers who have achieved outstanding research results in the field of biochips.
Professor Kang Sungmin is actively conducting research on three-dimensional biological platforms based on microfluidic technology, focusing on the cultivation of organoids derived from human organs and the development of organ-on-chip technology.
Professor Kang Sungmin earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Inha University, served as a postdoctoral researcher and researcher at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States, and joined Sangmyung University in September 2020.
