The participating students began by paying tribute and laying flowers at the statue of Patriot Jaehyuk Park, then carried out environmental cleanup activities at the birthplace of Patriot Chajeong Park. At the Baeksan Memorial Hall, they learned about the spirit of the independence movement and the efforts of Teacher Heeje Ahn to restore national sovereignty.
This event was evaluated as an opportunity to reflect on the lives and spirit of independence activists from Busan?Jaehyuk Park, Chajeong Park, and Heeje Ahn?and to reconsider the meaning of patriotism.
The Busan Regional Veterans Affairs Office operates various programs every year, including the "Domestic Patriotic and Historical Sites Exploration Project" for youth, enabling them to experience memorial facilities firsthand and deepen their understanding of history.
Director Namil Lee stated, "We will continue to expand experiential history education programs so that young people can directly feel the noble intentions of the independence movement."
