View original imageOn June 1, Jeonnam Governor Kim Youngrok visited Hwasun Park Golf Course (87 holes) in Cheongpung-myeon, Hwasun County, conducted an on-site inspection, and encouraged the staff.
Arriving at Hwasun Park Golf Course at around 2:00 p.m. that day, Governor Kim received a briefing on site and checked the overall operational status.
Governor Kim Youngrok, who also demonstrated a park golf test swing himself, stated, "The Hwasun Park Golf Course, with its outstanding scenery, is contributing not only to the local economy but also to the health of local residents." He further predicted, "If the Hwasun Dolmen Site is designated as a National Garden in the future, the resulting synergy will bring tremendous changes and revitalization to the region."
Accompanying Governor Kim on this on-site inspection of Hwasun Park Golf Course were Hwasun County Mayor Koo Bokgyu, Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority Commissioner Koo Chungkon, Hwasun County Park Golf Association President Hong Isik, and officials from the provincial government.
Earlier, from the entrance of the ticket office, Governor Kim wore a sash and, together with the on-site inspection team, promoted a campaign encouraging participation in the 21st presidential election, which will be held over three days.
Hwasun Park Golf Course, which opened in October last year as the largest in the nation with a total of 87 holes (81 regular holes and 6 practice holes), is currently operated directly by Hwasun County. Including Neungju Park Golf Course, the total number of visitors from January to May this year has been tallied at approximately 60,000. The total amount of local gift certificates distributed as refunds reached 154.28 million won, making a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy.
