National Gwangju Science Museum Donates 500 Used Toner Cartridges to Facility for People with Disabilities
The National Gwangju Science Museum announced on June 2 that it recently donated approximately 500 used toner cartridges to Ganaan Work Welfare Center, a vocational rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities, together with institutions belonging to the 'Advanced Industrial Complex Social Value Realization Community' at the Gwangju Research and Development Special Zone Headquarters.

View original imageThis delivery ceremony was organized as part of efforts to promote resource circulation and practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management through the donation of unused items. The event was hosted by the Gwangju Research and Development Special Zone, with participation from the National Gwangju Science Museum, Gwangju Technopark, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, and Korea Electronics Technology Institute.
The donated used toner cartridges will be remanufactured into new toner cartridges by workers at Ganaan Work Welfare Center, and the proceeds from their sale will be used as wages for employees with disabilities.
Ganaan Work Welfare Center is a social enterprise that operates toner remanufacturing and eco-friendly production processes, contributing to resource circulation and job creation for vulnerable groups.
Director Lee Jeonggu stated, "We participated in this donation to promote a circular economy for sustainable development and to fulfill our social responsibility, including environmental protection and job creation," and added, "We will continue to collaborate with local related institutions to carry out ESG activities in the future."
