Guro District to Hold 'Public Interest Activities Expo' on June 5 with 39 Organizations Participating
Experience and Upcycling Booths to Be Operated at Oryu-dong Station Plaza
Guro District in Seoul will hold the 4th Guro District Public Interest Activities Expo at 10:50 a.m. on June 5 in the plaza in front of Exit 3 of Oryu-dong Station. This expo is the only public interest activities expo held annually among Seoul's autonomous districts, serving as a flagship event to promote public interest activities in the community and encourage resident participation.
This year's expo, co-hosted by the Guro District Public Interest Activities Support Center and the Guro Public Interest Organization Council, will be held under the theme "Have You Tried Public Interest Activities?" The event will feature a variety of programs, including congratulatory performances and a parade, experience and promotional booths, and a special event titled "Again, Use."
All Guro District residents are welcome to participate. A total of 39 public interest organizations will take part, introducing and offering hands-on experiences in public interest activities aimed at addressing various social issues, including those related to children, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, the environment, education, and culture.
This year, in particular, a special upcycling booth themed "Again, Use" will be operated to highlight the importance of responding to the climate crisis. Through hands-on activities utilizing various resources such as umbrellas, wood, and sock yarn, the expo will present practical ways to promote resource circulation and environmental protection. Online pre-registration is available, and participants who visit all seven experience zones on the day of the event and collect certification stickers will receive a small commemorative gift.
