SK Securities Joins United Nations Global Compact to Strengthen ESG Management
On May 30, SK Securities announced that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), signaling its full-scale implementation of international standards for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
The UNGC is the largest sustainability initiative under the United Nations, with over 20,000 companies from 167 countries participating. It centers on ten principles across four key areas: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
Through this membership, SK Securities plans to incorporate the core principles of the UNGC throughout its corporate management and strengthen activities aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, the company will submit an annual Communication on Progress (CoP) report to enhance transparency and accountability in its ESG management.
Jung Junho, CEO of SK Securities, stated, "Joining the UNGC is a concrete expression of our commitment to fulfilling our roles and responsibilities as a global corporate citizen. Going forward, we will continue to make ESG a core part of our corporate strategy and pursue sustainable management that harmonizes social value with the fundamental role of finance."
