Navy P-3 Patrol Aircraft Crashes: Two Bodies Recovered, Search Ongoing for Two Crew Members
A P-3C maritime patrol aircraft belonging to the Navy crashed into a hillside.
According to the Navy on May 29, at approximately 1:43 p.m. that day, a P-3C aircraft conducting takeoff and landing training in the Pohang area of North Gyeongsang Province crashed near its base for reasons yet unknown.
So far, no civilian casualties have been reported as a result of the accident. The Navy has recovered the bodies of two of the four crew members on board and is continuing the search for the remaining two.

The Navy has established an accident response headquarters under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Staff to determine the cause of the crash. In addition, flights of all P-3 maritime patrol aircraft have been suspended.
