Producer Lee Soo Man participated in a tree planting event held in LA on the 23rd (local time). Joining him at the event were his global girl group A2O MAY and Girls’ Generation’s Sunny.
Through this campaign, more than 1,000 climate-resilient trees were planted throughout LA, with over 500 volunteers including youth and local residents participating. The activities were particularly focused on environmentally vulnerable areas within the city, such as South LA, Pico-Union, and Koreatown.
Lee Soo Man officially launched the LA tree planting campaign last September with a personal donation of $500,000 (approximately 690 million KRW). Subsequently, through collaboration with various organizations and grassroots supporters, he succeeded in raising an additional $755,000 (approximately 1.04 billion KRW) in donations.
KYCC stated, "This campaign goes beyond simple planting activities and will be recorded as a tangible example of practical action toward climate equity and sustainability in the local community," adding, "It serves as a precedent showing what can be achieved when entrepreneurs, cultural figures, and local communities cooperate around ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values."
Producer Lee Soo Man said, "Planting trees is about leaving a breathing legacy for future generations," and added, "Just as artists create beauty, I believe it is a responsibility of our times to preserve and expand it." He further emphasized, "ESG is not just a task for corporations but a social role required of creators as well."
