View original imageThe Gwangju Employers Federation announced on the 29th that it had informed its 807 member companies that they must guarantee voting time for workers during the early voting period (29th to 30th) for the 21st presidential election.
Previously, on the 23rd, the Gwangju Employers Federation held an agreement ceremony for the campaign to guarantee workers' voting time at the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel Convention Hall, attended by executives, representatives of member companies, and Gwangju Deputy Mayor Kwangwan Ko.
By law, workers' voting time is guaranteed during the presidential election. If a worker is scheduled to work during both the early voting period and on election day, they may request the necessary time to vote from their employer. The Gwangju Employers Federation also informed that employers who do not guarantee voting time for workers may be fined up to 10 million KRW.
Yang Jinseok, president of the Gwangju Employers Federation, stated, "Early voting is from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on election day, voting is from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voting can be done at the designated polling station without any separate notification. Please remember to bring your ID when voting."
