A Horseback Riding Festival for the Whole Family

The Korea Racing Authority will host a free "Urban Park Equestrian Festival" for local residents every weekend from May 31 to July 6 at Taejongdae Amusement Park in Busan.

This event is an experiential program that allows participants to interact with horses in the city. The main feature is a horseback riding experience using retired racehorses. Horses that have been retrained and tamed after retirement from racing will be used for the experience. To ensure the welfare of the horses, the operation rule of 45 minutes of activity followed by 15 minutes of rest will be applied.

Anyone can participate in the horseback riding experience free of charge without prior reservation, simply by registering on-site. The experience is open to anyone who is at least 105 cm tall and weighs 75 kg or less. Certified safety personnel will be stationed at the venue to thoroughly manage participant safety.

In addition, the festival grounds will feature a variety of side events such as a pony exhibition, photo zones, and a raffle event, offering unique enjoyment for families. In particular, children and students will have the opportunity to observe horses up close, take photos, and use the event as a hands-on learning experience.

At LetsRun Park Busan Gyeongnam, free admission tickets and appreciation events will be offered during the festival period to encourage participation from local residents.

From June 28 to July 6, the horseback riding experience will be further enriched in conjunction with the 2025 Hydrangea Flower Cultural Festival. Visitors are expected to create special memories in a space where colorful hydrangeas and horses come together.

Jung Kiwhan, Chairman of the Korea Racing Authority, said, "I hope that citizens visiting Taejongdae Amusement Park in Busan will develop a sense of familiarity with horses through the horseback riding experience and enjoy a leisurely and healthy time in the city. I also hope this event serves as an opportunity for people to take their first steps into horseback riding."
