Plans to Expand Tuition Support for Overseas Korean Schools
OK Financial Group announced on May 29 that the World Federation of Overseas Koreans has appointed Yoon Choi, Chairman of the group, as Vice Chairman of the Federation.

View original imageThe World Federation of Overseas Koreans is a non-profit organization representing 7.5 million overseas Koreans, established in 2021. It aims to enhance the status of overseas Koreans, promote mutual cooperation, and facilitate various exchange and cooperation activities with the home country. The Federation is led by President Sangkoo Koh and is composed of vice presidents, directors, auditors, and delegates.
Chairman Choi has previously served as Vice Chairman of the Korea-Japan Economic Association, Head of the Korean delegation at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, Deputy Head of the Korean delegation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Vice Chairman of the Korea-Japan Economic Association, Vice Chairman of the Association of Overseas Korean School Boards, and as a leading CEO of the World Korean Business Convention. He is also the Chairman of Osaka Geumgang International School in Osaka, Japan.
Chairman Choi is expected to serve as a bridge connecting overseas Korean networks and promoting Korea’s stature. As a third-generation Korean-Japanese with Korean nationality, he understands the challenges faced by overseas Koreans.
Chairman Choi stated, "I will contribute to providing practical support measures, such as expanding tuition support for overseas Korean schools, not only for the 7.5 million overseas Koreans but also for students of overseas Korean schools," and added, "I will work to establish communication between Korean associations, as well as to build a foundation for identity education, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation for the next generation of overseas Koreans."

The Federation plans to discuss ways to promote exchange and cooperation among global Korean communities through its regular general meeting and regional forums in the second half of the year.
