Gyeonggi Province to Hold Climate Action Experience Event in Goyang on May 30-31
Gyeonggi Province will host the "2025 Climate Citizen UP, Climate Action ON" on-site experiential event at Lafesta in Ilsan, Goyang, over two days from May 30 to May 31, ahead of World Environment Day (June 5).
This event will be held as an eco-friendly event without single-use products, in line with the World Environment Day theme of "Ending Plastic Pollution." In addition, to provide a space for communication and empathy among climate citizens, the event will feature climate action practice programs as well as exhibition and experience booths.
Various programs will also be offered so that residents can directly experience and practice solutions to climate and environmental issues. First, the "Plogging (picking up litter + jogging) Campaign" will take place throughout the Lafesta area, allowing participants to pick up street litter while jogging. There will also be a "Mobile Environmental Classroom," created by remodeling a large bus, that will visit the event site.
Other engaging activities will include climate and environmental art (ART) experiences and exhibitions that combine art with environmental themes, virtual reality (VR) experiences on resource recycling, upcycled environmental teaching tool workshops, and wildflower seedling planting.
