Annals Museum Surpasses 10,000 Visitors Just 24 Days After Full Opening
Overcoming Challenges Through the Exhibition of the Original Joseon Dynasty Annals and More
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on May 28 that the National Joseon Dynasty Annals Museum, which fully opened to the public on May 1, surpassed 10,000 visitors in just 24 days. Despite its challenging location in Odaesan, Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, the museum overcame these disadvantages by offering a variety of content, including the original Joseon Dynasty Annals and Uigwe on display.
Since May 1, the Annals Museum has been hosting a special exhibition titled "The Road to Odaesan Archive." The exhibition movingly tells the story of the Joseon Dynasty Annals, which were taken overseas during the Japanese occupation and returned to Korea after more than 100 years. The museum also offers educational and experiential programs, including a children's museum featuring animal characters, a video room showcasing the process of creating the Annals, and a special exhibition following the journeys of ancestors who visited the Odaesan Archive.
