Daejeon Transportation Corporation announced that it has been selected as the top-performing operator in the 2024 Railway Safety Management Level Assessment conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
The corporation received an A grade after an evaluation of 24 railway operators and facility management organizations nationwide, assessing the implementation of each institution's railway safety systems, accident indicators, safety maturity, and improvement efforts.
Last year, the corporation achieved zero railway safety accidents, and as a result of embedding a safety culture throughout the organization and continuously strengthening education and training, its safety maturity index improved compared to the previous year. The corporation also achieved a perfect score in the accident indicators category.
In particular, after achieving an excellent grade for five consecutive years in the safety management assessment, the corporation has now received the highest grade for the first time this year, proving itself to be the nation's top railway operator in terms of safety standards.
