Police Launch Investigation After Receiving Report
A post soliciting a knife attack against Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, appeared on Ajou University's anonymous online community, prompting the police to launch a preliminary investigation before officially booking any suspects.
According to Yonhap News and the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency on the 26th, at 10:51 a.m. that day, a post was uploaded to Ajou University's online community 'Everytime' that read, "If you stab Lee Jae Myung with a knife today, I will give you money. Contact me."
Lee was scheduled to hold a meeting with university students at Ajou University in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, starting at 11:00 a.m. that day to discuss youth policies and other topics.
