Mayor Haksoo Lee of Jeongeup Urges Citizens to Cast Their Valuable Vote in Presidential Election
Promotional Activities Such as Installing Banners and Signs
Encouraging Citizen Participation
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province has launched both internal and external administrative efforts to actively encourage voter participation ahead of the 21st presidential election, aiming to ensure that every eligible voter can cast their valuable ballot.
On the morning of the 26th, Mayor Haksoo Lee emphasized during a video executive meeting that "democracy begins with voting," urging public officials to participate actively and to promote voting among citizens.
Mayor Lee stated, "A single vote can change the direction of the community and is the first step toward building a better Republic of Korea," and called on public officials to set an example and take the lead in raising the voter turnout.
As a concrete measure to achieve this, the city has begun comprehensive promotional activities both online and offline. Banners and signs encouraging voting have been installed along major roads and at public offices, and village broadcasts are being aired in apartment complexes and rural communities to naturally raise awareness of the importance of voting in citizens' daily environments. In addition, the city is providing customized guidance by age group and region through various channels, including the official city website, social media, LED displays, and the Bus Information System (BIS).
Meanwhile, early voting for the 21st presidential election will be held at 23 early voting stations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 29 and 30. The main election will take place on June 3 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 45 polling stations.
