Twenty-two members of the Korean Air in-house volunteer group, Yeonhap Shinuhoe, and their families visited the Somangui Jip orphanage in the Chitwan region, where underprivileged children reside. They installed irrigation equipment and thoroughly inspected the playground facilities within the orphanage. Renovation work was also carried out on outdated facilities.

In addition, they organized sharing events in which the children could directly participate, including free meal services, various games, and gifts of stationery needed for studying. They also delivered medicines useful for the hot and humid local climate, such as nutritional supplements, antipyretics, ointments for dermatitis, and anthelmintics.

The Chitwan region, located approximately 150 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is renowned for its well-preserved natural environment, with most of the area designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. However, due to a lack of social infrastructure such as electricity, gas, hospitals, and schools, the living conditions for local residents are poor.

A Korean Air representative stated, "As a global airline, we strive to realize the value of sharing around the world through ongoing social contribution activities for underprivileged communities," adding, "We will continue to pursue a variety of activities to fulfill our corporate social responsibility."

Meanwhile, since 2014, the Korean Air in-house volunteer group has been conducting volunteer activities in Nepal and the Philippines with company support. Currently, there are 25 in-house volunteer groups active at Korean Air.
