HMM announced on May 26 that it will launch a new container service (NIS) between Northern China and Indonesia starting next month.
This service, jointly operated with Singapore-based shipping company PIL and X-PRESS FEEDER, will depart for the first time from Tianjin, China on June 19. Five container vessels with a capacity of 4,000 to 5,000 TEU (1 TEU = one 20-foot container) will be deployed, and the round trip will take a total of 35 days.
The ports of call are Tianjin (China), Qingdao, Xiamen, Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia), Surabaya, Singapore, and back to Tianjin.
HMM expects to strengthen its competitiveness on the Indonesia route in addition to its existing Intra-Asia Cross Network (ICN) service, and to create synergy by connecting with long-haul routes to North America and Europe.
