Yangcheon District Ends Summer Mosquito Worries with "Village Love Quarantine Volunteer Group"
Eco-Friendly Quarantine in Vulnerable Areas Until November
Yangcheon District in Seoul is launching the full-scale operation of the "Village Love Quarantine Volunteer Group," a public-private partnership quarantine system, to proactively block infectious disease-carrying pests during the summer season.
Last summer, Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon District, participated in joint public-private quarantine activities. Provided by Yangcheon District.

From this month until November, they will carry out eco-friendly quarantine activities at least once a week, focusing on areas vulnerable to pests such as densely populated residential areas, parks, traditional markets, and sewers.
During the rainy season and frequent heavy rainfall from July to September, the group will work with the public health center’s rapid response quarantine team to intensively disinfect flood-prone areas, including Anyangcheon. In addition, the district will install 20 additional eco-friendly insect attractant devices in 11 locations with high foot traffic, such as children's parks and village squares, bringing the total to 196 devices. The district will also provide free rentals of high-temperature steam sterilizers and quarantine chemicals to support residents in directly eliminating pests.
