Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, stated on the 23rd, "I will help carry on the will of former President Roh Moo-hyun and contribute to building a world of great unity."
On this day, after visiting Bongha Village to mark the 16th anniversary of former President Roh's passing, Governor Kim wrote on his Facebook, "With longing and remembrance, I laid a chrysanthemum at President Roh Moo-hyun's grave," adding, "The words inscribed on the tombstone, 'The last bastion of democracy is the organized power of awakened citizens,' resonate deeply with me."
He went on to say, "The great legacy of President Roh, who dreamed of a society without privilege or unfairness and a world where common sense prevails, became the driving force that prevented the illegal 12·3 martial law and protected democracy."
Finally, he added, "I miss the world built by many little Roh Moo-hyuns."
