Sejong City Removes 30.48 Hectares of Small-Scale Agricultural Promotion Areas
For areas of 3 hectares or less...
Land use and property rights now possible
On May 23, Sejong City announced that it has removed and officially designated 30.48 hectares of small-scale Agricultural Promotion Areas, which have low potential for agricultural use, from the Agricultural Promotion Area status.
The areas subject to removal are small-scale Agricultural Promotion Areas of 3 hectares or less that have become separated from consolidated farmland due to changes in conditions such as roads and rivers.
Through a process that included gathering residents' opinions and deliberations by the Agricultural, Rural, and Food Industry Policy Council, the city received final approval from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to remove a total of 26 zones from the Agricultural Promotion Area status, including 22.99 hectares of Agricultural Promotion Districts and 7.49 hectares of Agricultural Protection Districts.
With the removal of these small-scale Agricultural Promotion Areas, the city expects increased convenience for citizens, including more diverse land use and the ability to exercise property rights.
The list of lands subject to removal can be viewed in the notice and announcement section of the Sejong City website.
