To advance cooperation, ARKO staff will first visit the Getty this fall to directly examine its archives, research projects, and international exchange cases. Afterwards, the Getty will visit ARKO and the Nam June Paik Art Center to discuss concrete plans for collaboration.
In addition, opportunities will be provided for Korean researchers to work at the Getty Research Institute. ARKO plans to prepare related programs so that Korean researchers can participate in the "ARKO-Getty Summer Residency" next summer. In particular, the focus will be on exploring Nam June Paik's contributions to the new currents of contemporary art in the late 20th century and the international artist networks with which he interacted. To support this, the Getty will cooperate by granting access to its rare Nam June Paik-related archival materials.
