Sejong City to Add More BRT Metropolitan Autonomous Buses from May 22... Total of Five in Operation
Additional A2 Bus Added to the Osong Station?Sejong Government Complex?Banseok Station Route
Starting from May 22, Sejong City will add one more metropolitan autonomous bus dedicated to the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line, bringing the total number of operating buses to five.
According to the city on May 21, the metropolitan autonomous BRT buses were previously operated with two A2 buses and two A4 buses. With this addition, there will now be three A2 buses and two A4 buses in operation.
The A2 route runs between Osong Station, Sejong Government Complex, Sejong Bus Terminal, and Banseok Station, covering 32.2 kilometers. With the increased number of buses, weekday round trips will expand from four to six.
Boarding locations remain the same as before: Osong Station, Haemil-dong, Dodam-dong, the north side of the Government Complex, the south side of the Government Complex, Saerom-dong and Naseong-dong, Sejong Terminal Underground, Sejong Terminal Ground Level, Hansol-dong, and Banseok Station.
The payment method and fare (1,400 to 2,000 won) are the same as for regular trunk buses.
Lee Yoonjung, head of the Future Industry Division, stated, "Sejong City is actively fostering autonomous driving as a future strategic industry. Based on these efforts, we will strive to ensure that autonomous buses earn the trust of citizens and become an everyday mode of transportation."
