Inviting Engaged Couples to Tie the Knot in the Forest
The Korea Forest Welfare Institute announced on May 21 that it will be accepting applications from engaged couples for the "2025 Wedding in the Forest" support program until June 13.
This initiative was designed to support forest weddings for engaged couples from vulnerable groups who are preparing for marriage.
Eligible participants include engaged couples from vulnerable groups, such as young adults preparing for self-reliance and individuals with disabilities. After recruiting applicants, the Korea Forest Welfare Institute will conduct a screening process and select five couples. The selected couples will receive free support, including an outdoor wedding venue, wedding dress, formal attire, digital invitations, wedding banquet meals, and event management services.
The weddings for the selected couples are scheduled to take place between September and November at one of four forest welfare facilities: National Chilgok Forest Center, National Jangseong Forest Center, National Cheongdo Forest Center, and National Busan Seunghaksan Healing Forest. The engaged couples may choose their preferred venue from among these four facilities.
To apply, applicants should download the application form from the announcements section of the Korea Forest Welfare Institute website and submit it via email.
Nam Taeheon, President of the Institute, stated, "A wedding in the forest will create special memories for engaged couples as they begin their new lives together," and added, "We will make every effort to ensure that the forest wedding program provides practical support to engaged couples who may hesitate to marry due to challenging circumstances."
