The competition was held on May 15 and 16 at the Busan Port International Exhibition and Convention Center. Over 300 participants, including representatives from 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, LX Corporation regional offices, private companies, and universities from across the country, took part, making it the largest surveying technology competition in Korea. The contest was divided into three categories: cadastral surveying, drone surveying, and detailed surveying.
Ulju County won the Grand Prize in the drone survey category by successfully carrying out the entire process, including acquiring high-resolution images using drones, processing orthophotos, and producing accurate results. This achievement follows consecutive Grand Prizes at the "2025 Cadastral Survey Competition" hosted by Ulsan City and the "2024 Drone Utilization Competition," further demonstrating the county's capabilities.
In particular, this award marks the first time a local government from Ulsan has been recognized at a nationwide surveying competition, symbolizing a significant advancement in the region's spatial information technology.
Additionally, three Ulju County officials were appointed as "on-site surveyors" by the Central Cadastral Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport through this competition. They will now be responsible for national review tasks related to cadastral survey suitability assessments for the next year.
County Governor Lee Soongeol stated, "It is a very meaningful achievement for Ulju County to be recognized for its surveying expertise on the national stage as a representative of Ulsan. We will continue to advance smart surveying technologies, including drones, and nurture professional talent to establish Ulju County as a leading local government in spatial information administration."
