Korea Startup Forum announced on May 21 that it had successfully concluded the "Business Trip in Vienna," which took place in Vienna, Austria, from May 7 to May 16. This event was part of a series of preliminary programs aimed at promoting the main COMEUP event and building overseas networks, following similar activities in Shanghai, China, and Tokyo, Japan earlier this year.
The "Business Trip in Vienna" was led by startups that previously participated in COMEUP 2024's "COMEUP Stars" program, representing Korea as a national delegation. Six companies?Digitallog, Bamiedu, Betterfly, iPinLabs, JetikAI, and Qubic?participated, covering a range of industries including artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, and explored opportunities for global expansion.

View original imageThe Korean delegation officially participated in "Go Austria Spring 2025" in cooperation with Global Incubator Network Austria (GIN), an Austrian startup support organization. The event featured a customized incubation program designed to support entry into the Austrian and European markets, with participation from deep-tech startups from seven countries: Korea, China, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, and Singapore. In addition, the delegation attended "ViennaUP 2025" and the Austria Mobility Conference.
The delegation met with relevant organizations such as the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Vienna Trade Office, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and the Vienna Business Agency to share information on the local ecosystem and technology trends. They also discussed ways to enhance startup cooperation between Korea and Austria through networking with local mentors. Networking events were also held with GIN, global partner organizations, and local startup officials to further expand exchanges.

This "Business Trip in Vienna" was a strategic initiative aimed at expanding overseas startup participation and fostering global cooperation and networking ahead of this year's main COMEUP event. Korea Startup Forum plans to strengthen the spread of the main COMEUP event and build overseas networks by operating the "Business Trip" program in major local and global hubs, starting with Shanghai, China, and continuing through Tokyo, Japan, and Vienna, Austria, with plans to visit Busan, Jeju, and other key locations in the second half of the year.
