Jongseop Kim, Chairman of Samick Musical Instruments, Appointed as New Chairman of Gangnam Foundation
The Gangnam Foundation announced on May 19 that Jongseop Kim, Chairman and CEO of Samick Musical Instruments, has been appointed as its 6th Chairman. His term will last for two years, until April 7, 2027.

View original imageJongseop Kim, who began his term as Chairman of the Foundation on May 2, graduated from the Department of Social Welfare at Seoul National University and has served as Chairman and CEO of Samick Musical Instruments since 2002. In 2010, he served as the third President of COPION, a nonprofit overseas volunteer organization, and in 2011, he was Vice President of the Korean Red Cross. He is currently active as a Cultural Ambassador for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Through the Samick Cultural Foundation, which he established in 2013, Kim has continued to realize the values of culture, arts, and social welfare through practical initiatives. These include discovering and nurturing talent in the arts, hosting performances by artists who donate their talents, providing scholarships to arts organizations and schools, and supporting local governments with musical instruments?all aimed at bridging cultural gaps.

Jongseop Kim stated, "Based on the know-how I have accumulated through various social contribution projects and the practical experience gained from the wide range of cultural and artistic activities carried out by the Foundation, I will plan and operate even more diverse cultural and artistic programs." He added, "I will do my utmost to establish close cooperative relationships with related organizations and to develop a mutually supportive cultural community."
