SG Signs MOU with Ukraine Reconstruction Agency to Launch Full-Scale Recovery Projects

View original imageSG, a company specializing in asphalt concrete, announced on May 19 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ukraine Infrastructure Recovery and Development Agency (Reconstruction Agency) for cooperation on road restoration in Ukraine.
The signing ceremony took place on May 15 (local time) in Kyiv, Ukraine, and was attended by Seo Ohjin, President of SG, and Serhii Ivanovych Sukhomlyn, who was appointed as Head of the Ukraine Reconstruction Agency in September last year. The MOU is valid for one year from the date of signing and can be extended through an additional agreement.
SG and the Ukraine Reconstruction Agency will cooperate in the following areas: exchange of experience and information on road infrastructure construction projects; case studies and exchanges utilizing 'EcoSteelAscon' technology; sharing of technology for road modernization; and joint projects related to other infrastructure recovery. Both parties plan to expand the scope and details of their cooperation in the future according to further agreements.
The company also plans to participate in reconstruction projects for the following roads: P-55 road (Odesa?Voznesensk?Novyi Buh); M-14 road (Odesa?Melitopol?Novoazovsk); and H-01 road (Kyiv?Znamianka).
EcoSteelAscon is an asphalt concrete that utilizes steel slag and has been patented by SG. It is considered a suitable solution for road restoration in Ukraine due to its superior durability compared to conventional asphalt concrete.

An SG representative said, "Through this MOU, we aim to expand cooperation in the field of infrastructure recovery in Ukraine and strengthen the partnership between Korea and Ukraine," adding, "Based on the company's various EcoSteelAscon construction references, we plan not only to contribute to short-term road restoration but also to support Ukraine in securing independent infrastructure technology."
