Hoseo University Develops Health Functional Food for Stress Relief
Increase in Serotonin Activity and More
Hoseo University announced on May 16 that InnoPharmaScreen, a company founded by Professor Kang Incheol of the Graduate School of Venture Convergence Engineering, has developed a health functional food called 'OFF STRESS' aimed at improving sleep quality and alleviating stress.
OFF STRESS is formulated with IPS-GME, a patented plant-derived ingredient co-developed by the team, as well as theanine, magnesium, and zinc.
'IPS-GME' has been shown to be effective in relieving stress and improving sleep quality by increasing serotonin activity, which is involved in emotion and sleep regulation, and by acting as an antagonist to GABA receptors.
Professor Kang Incheol stated, "IPS-GME is a material that fundamentally enhances sleep quality by regulating stress, going beyond simple calming effects," and added, "We will continue to pursue research and development in the bio-health sector based on natural ingredients."
Based on these achievements, Hoseo University plans to accelerate research and development in the bio-health sector, as well as promote innovative startups and strengthen industry-academia cooperation.
