Yes24 Introduces 'Cleanbot'... Automatically Hides Hate Comments
Yes24 Introduces AI-Powered Hate Speech Detection
Automatically Hides Inappropriate Content in 'One-Line Reviews' and 'Messages to the Author'
Yes24, a cultural content platform, announced on May 16, 2025, that it has introduced the 'Cleanbot' service, which automatically detects and filters inappropriate hate speech using AI.
The newly introduced 'Cleanbot' by Yes24 features AI that autonomously detects and filters hate speech about authors or books that is not directly related to the books themselves. Yes24 is the first in the bookstore industry to implement this service, aiming to provide healthier information to readers who are exploring and purchasing books.
When 'Cleanbot' is activated, it automatically detects inappropriate expressions included in the 'One-Line Review' section at the bottom of the book detail page and the 'Message to the Author' section on the author page, and hides such content. Users can choose to turn the Cleanbot function on or off, allowing them to view hidden posts if they wish.
This service utilizes Yes24's database of book reviews and one-line reviews accumulated over more than 20 years. Based on this data, the AI analyzes the context of sentences to block and filter out not only direct profanity or slang but also various expressions that may cause discomfort, such as violent or discriminatory terms.
